Connecting Android Device in Debugging mode

Prerequisite : 

You should already have installed the Android SDK. If you don’t have click here to install and set up.

  1. Enable Android Debugging

a. Connect your device via USB to your system.

b. Now open ‘Settings’ from the device.

c. Go to About Phone.

d. Click on Build Number multiple times, you’ll see the message like ‘You’re 3 steps away from being developer’.

e. After successfully unlocked Developer Option go back to setting and open the menu Developer Option.

f. Enable the Android Debugging mode.

g. Now go to Android SDK folder and open command prompt in ‘platform-tools’ folder.

h. Enter the below command in cmd. It’ll show you the Device Name and its status if the device is connected.


adb devices

 2. Installing apk in Android Device or in emulator via SDK.

a. Follow the above steps to configure and take the mobile device in debugging mode.

b. Now type below command from platform-tools in cmd to install apk in the mobile device.


adb install <path to apk>

c. You’ll see the success message in cmd after the application is successfully installed. You will also find installed app on mobile device.
